Many of you most probably are familiar
with the success series CSI (Crime Scene
                  Investigation) by Jerry Bruckheimer, which
was first broadcast in the USA in the year

                                           69 years of Batman

Surely it is hard to believe that
                                           the figure dressed in black,
                                           saving lives in Gotham City’s
night, driving all villains mad while jumping from roof to roof is
actually 69 years old. This grandfather-aged person is of course
Batman, himself. The character of Batman was created by Bob
Kane and Bill Finger in May 1939. Before he received his final form,
he had gone through several changes. At first, just like Superman,
he wore a cloak, and a helmet. Later Bill Finger suggested dropping
the helmet idea, giving Batman a mask and instead of the cloak
a pair of wings. After these alterations all they had to do was
changing the colourful parts to black thereby making Batman more
                  similar to a real bat.
The story of Batman is about a young man, who was born into a
wealthy family but became an orphan after a gang of pickpockets
murdered his parents. The child Bruce Wayne then decides that
as an adult he will revenge the death of his parents and swears
to rid the city of all criminals. When he grows up he receives help
from Alfred, his valet, in realising his plans to save the world. The
old man cares about Bruce, who perhaps is a bit too occupied
thinking about keeping peace and order, as a father. Bruce has got
no special super powers. He cannot light fire with his look, or twist
trees with only one finger and he cannot even look through walls.
Instead, he uses the most modern techniques, and his unlimited
                  intelligence to reach his goals.
And he seems to be doing a really good job! The once cartoon
character is today a most successful conqueror. In his latest movie,
The Dark Knight, he fights Joker, played by the late Heath Ledger,
and behind his mask the audience can discover Christian Bale.
